Your auto insurance covers you for a minimum of 10 chiropractic treatments for minor injuries under the Alberta Diagnostic Treatment Protocols Regulation (DTPR).

If you’ve been injured in a vehicle collision, you are entitled to treatment that is covered by your auto insurance. Chiropractic treatment for minor injuries is billed directly to your insurance company. You do not have to submit receipts for reimbursement.

Make sure you tell your chiropractor that you were injured in a car accident so they will fill out the forms to have your treatment costs covered.

In addition, every Albertan is entitled to $1000 of chiropractic care coverage for more serious injuries (under Section B). If you require more treatment after the initial DTPR, you have an additional $1000 in chiropractic that you can access from your automobile insurance company.

The Alberta’s Auto Insurance Regulations states that the choice of treatment provider is yours to make. At Chirocare Centre we believe that your health and your body are of utmost importance. Your car can be repaired and even written off, but your body has to last you for life. You need to take care of your body and take the time needed to rehabilitate your injuries so that your body can recover. Similarly, as you would research before making a major purchase, you need to take the time to find the right health care provider to help you with your recovery. Ask your insurance company what type of agreement they have with the clinic they are insisting you go to for treatment.

Question your insurance company as to why they are insisting you have to go with a specific clinic for treatment.

At Chirocare Centre, we will help you complete the necessary insurance forms and ensure they are submitted to your insurance company.

We will invoice your insurance company directly for all chiropractic, massage therapy, acupuncture, and psychology treatments you receive.

At Chirocare Centre, we offer a multidisciplinary approach. Your well being is important to us and we will incorporate chiropractic, massage therapy and/or acupuncture to ensure the best outcome for you.

A doctor’s referral is NOT required to receive chiropractic treatment for injuries sustained in a car accident. In Alberta, if you have been injured in a car accident, you will qualify for treatment under a program known as the Diagnostic and Treatment Protocols (DTPR). Under the DPTR, you must seek the advice of a primary health care practitioner such as our chiropractor at Chirocare Centre. Once our chiropractor has examined you and rendered a diagnosis, you can start receiving treatment immediately.

At Chirocare Centre, we will take a detailed history and perform a thorough examination and provide you with the utmost care. The amount and type of care you receive will be in your best interests and not those of your insurance company. Your insurance company may recommend a “preferred treatment provider” to you. Remember, that you have the freedom to choose where you go for treatment and you can choose Chirocare Centre.
